The Mended Hearts, Inc. (MHI) empowers heart patients and their families by providing relevant education and resources that enable them to make better decisions about their healthcare. Their mission is dedicated to “Inspiring hope and improving the quality of life for heart patients and their families through ongoing peer-to-peer support”.

Heart Disease is the #1 killer of women and men, even surpassing cancer. Cancer patients can also have heart disease related to genealogy and/or cancer treatment.

MHI’s education programs are designed for patients and families because we know that information is power, and we believe that shared decision making improves quality of life. This is done through a network of chapters across the USA and reaches out to 18 countries.
Our educational programs are in a variety of formats so they can reach more people and so they are easy to access.

  • Diet and nutrition
  • Online social networking

People they serve: 

Mended Hearts serves ages beginning at conception and lasts throughout their lifetime. We serve all populations of heart disease patients.

MHI provides support, education and advocacy, conduct Zoom meetings with professional speakers and in-person gatherings.

My Sister My Friend Breast Cancer Support

My Sister My Friend Breast Cancer Support is a grassroots non-profit organization that provides ongoing supportive services to women and families battling breast cancer.

Services include:

support groups, navigational screening support, financial assistance, resource linkages (treatment transportation and disability), patient education, educational outreach, advocacy, research and clinical trials database, caregiver support, peer support and survivor events.

People they serve:

African American, Latina, and BIPOC communities

However, we provide services to any and everyone in need of our services. We do not discriminate.
