Medicare is a federal insurance program that pays for certain health care expenses for people aged 65 or older and certain younger individuals with specific disabilities.



Medi-Cal is California’s Medicaid health care program. This program pays for a variety of medical services for children and adults with limited income and resources.


Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance): Long Term Disability pays benefits to you and certain members of your family if you are “insured,” meaning that you worked long enough and paid Social Security taxes.

SSI (Supplemental Security Income): Pays benefits based on financial need. SSI makes monthly payments to people who have low income and few resources and are age 65 or older, blind or disabled.
